Connect User to User Group
Explanation
Use this activity to link
users to user groups within a company and to change a user's default user group.
This mandatory task is to be performed by a system administrator or equivalent
person.
The user group controls the
voucher types, accounting periods, and combination rules that are available to
the user in various IFS Applications windows. A user can belong to more than one
group but only one default group.
Prerequisites
This activity has the following prerequisites:
- The user must be entered in the
Users per Company
window in IFS/Accounting Rules.
- User groups must be entered in the
User Groups window
in
IFS/Accounting Rules.
System Effects
As a result of this activity:
- The user is connected to a user group, which determines the user's
permissions, voucher types, accounting periods,
and combination rules in various IFS Applications windows.
- The user's default user
group is changed or
defined.

Procedure
To perform this activity, follow these steps:
- Open the Users
per User Group window.
- Query for the user group.
- To add a user to the group, create a new record.
- Select the user's ID from the List of Values.
- To define a user group as the user's default user
group, select the Default
Group check box in the user's row.
- Save the changes.
Note: You can also
reach the Users Per User Group window from the
User Groups
window, by selecting one or more user groups, and then right-clicking and clicking
Users
Per User Group.
