Define External File Type Parameters Per Set

Explanation

Use this activity to associate available parameters for an external file type with a parameter set and to define default values for the parameters as well as behavior in the general External File Assistant.

During processing of input and output files via the External Files toolkit it is possible to refer to a parameter set. The parameters associated with the set will be used during the process. Regardless of if the access is performed in a fixed interface like e.g. the External Supplier Invoices Interface in Invoice or in the general External File Assistant, the parameter definitions will be used. In the first case the default values supplied for the parameters in the set will be fetched to the interface and presented as default values in fixed fields. In the latter case the parameter description and the associated default values will be presented in a general parameter input window in the External File Assistant.

Prerequisites

Available parameters and parameter sets must have been defined for the external file type to be able to associate parameters to the sets.

System Effects

Parameter sets that have associated parameters will be possible to use in external interfaces.
