Change Customer Category

This activity is used to change the category of an existing customer.

Procedure

  1. Query for a customer record in the category of prospect or end customer.
  2. Right-click and select Change Customer Category to open the Change Customer Category dialog box.
  3. Optionally, you can change the customer name.
  4. Optionally, you can enter/change value in the Association No field.
    Note: This number is optional and is only required by certain countries.
  5. Select the customer category from the Category list.
  6. Optionally, if you are changing the category to prospect or customer, you can use a template customer.
  7. Select the template customer ID from the List of Values.
  8. If you want to copy Invoice, Payment, Credit Info and Project Report parameters from the template customer, select the company from the List of Values for the Company field, in which you want to copy data.
  9. Select the Overwrite Order Related Data check box if you want to overwrite existing data on prospect customer from template.
    Note: This check box is enabled only when you convert a prospect to a customer.
  10. If you want to copy address related information from template, select the Transfer Address Related Info from Template check box. This will copy information such as delivery tax, document tax, order address info and supply chain matrix for customer to the customer’s default delivery address from template. If the prospect customer record is already having data, they will be overwritten.
    Note: This check box is enabled only when you convert a prospect to a customer.
