Enter Reason for Lost Opportunity Line

Explanation

When the business opportunity does not lead to a customer order, you will note that those opportunity lines are lost. You can set them as lost using the right mouse button menu. On the dialog box that appears, you can enter the reason why the opportunity line was lost and to which competitor it was lost. The status of the opportunity line is then set to Lost.

Prerequisites

The opportunity header must have been entered, saved and released.

System Effects

The status of the opportunity line is set to Lost and will receive the information for the loss. No further transactions can be performed for the line.

Procedure

  1. Open the Business Opportunity window and search for your opportunity.
  2. Click the Opportunity Lines tab and select the line(s) you want to set to Lost.
  3. Right-click and then click Lost.
  4. On the dialog box that appears, enter the competitor to whom the opportunity line was lost. You can click List or enter the competitor ID manually.
  5. Enter the reason for losing the opportunity line.
  6. Optionally, you may enter a short comment in the Lost Note field.
  7. Click OK when completed. The opportunity line is set to Lost.
