Enter Opportunity Line

Explanation

This activity is used to add opportunity lines. A business opportunity is built in two levels: an opportunity header and one or more opportunity lines.

The Opportunity Lines tab is used to specify the parts and quantities that the customer may want to order. You can also specify the desired date of delivery, prices, etc for each opportunity line.

When a new opportunity line is created, the Non-Existing Part check box can be selected in order to specify parts which are not registered as sales parts.

Note: Rental Part Lines cannot be added to the Business Opportunity.

Procedure

To enter an opportunity line:

  1. In the business opportunity header, populate or query for the business opportunity.
  2. Click the Opportunity Lines tab, and then click New.
  3. Specify the site that the part belongs to.
  4. Either specify the sales part number, service part number, or package part number directly in the Sales Part No field or search for it by using the List of Values. In addition, you can enter the customer's part number in the Customer Part No field if a cross reference is established between your sales part number and the customer's part number. The description of the part is then displayed in the Description field, including the sales unit, price unit etc. If the part you want to enter is not registered as a sales part, select the Non-Existing Part check box and enter a description.
  5. Indicate the quantity of requested parts in the Qty field. The price per unit and the total price for the opportunity line appear automatically.
  6. You can save the quotation line now if you do not want to add or change any other values. A line number is then assigned automatically.
