Register Repository User ID
Explanation
Use this activity to register a repository with a user ID to use when
accessing the repository. This activity is required when using a FTP protocol.
Prerequisites
The FTP addresses and network connections must be defined.
System Effects
- The registered repository address will be available in the List of Values in the
EDM
Basic/Repositories tab when registering FTP
repositories.
- The registered user ID and password will be used by the system when
documents are accessed in the repository address.
- The Repository Address in the EDM Basic/Repository Address and User, cannot be deleted if there exist a record for repository connected to it in EDM Basic/Repositories.
Likewise a record in EDM Basic/Repositories cannot be deleted if a file has been checked in to it. (An error would appear when trying to delete such records).

Procedure
- Open the
EDM Basic window and click the Repository
Address and User tab.
- Click New to create a new record.
- In the Repository Address field, enter the FTP address for the
repository. To modify an existing repository user ID, query for the repository.
- In the
Repository User ID field, enter or edit the login name for the address.
- In the Repository Password field, enter or edit the password.
- In the Repository Address Description field, enter or edit the
description.
- Click Save.
