Copy Sales Contract

Explanation

Use this activity to copy information, from the originating contract or any other existing contract to another existing contract. It is also possible to create a new contract and copy the originating contract's information to it. When copying information between two different companies, company specific data is not copied.

Procedure

  1. In either the Sales Contract or the Sales Contracts window, select the Sales Contract to be copied.
  2. Right-click and then click the Copy Contract menu option.
  3. The Copy Sales Contract dialog box will open, with the Sales Contract Number from the selected Sales Contract in the From Contract No field as default and the active Revision No from the selected Sales Contract in the From Revision No field. If no active revision exists in the selected Sales Contract, the Revision No will be left empty.

To create a new Sales Contract and copy contract details to it:

  1. Select the New Contract check box in the Copy Sales Contract dialog box.
  2. Fill in a new Sales Contract number in the To Contract No field. If this field is left empty, a number will be generated for the user.
  3. The Revision No field will be disabled so that no Revision Number can be selected when creating a new Sales Contract.
  4. Fill in a Planned Start Date in the Planned Start Date field. This field is mandatory.
  5. Select which information must be copied to the new contract by selecting the appropriate check boxes.
  6. Click the OK button to copy the Sales Contract.

To copy to an existing Sales Contract:

  1. Do not select the New Contract check box.
  2. Select an existing Sales Contract where the data is to be copied to, using the list of Sales Contracts shown when the List button is clicked .
  3. Select the Revision No of the Sales Contract where the data is to be copied to, using the list of active Revisions of the Sales Contract (if any exist) listed when the List button is clicked.
  4. Fill in a Planned Start Date in the Planned Start Date field. If this field is left empty, the date for the new line items that have been added, will be taken from the originating contract.
  5. Select which information must be copied over by selecting the appropriate check boxes.
  6. Click the OK button to copy the Sales Contract.
