Enter Preposting, Component Repair Order

Explanation

This activity is used to enter prepostings to a component repair order.

Prerequisites

• Preposting must be allowed for exchange lines by adding the M211 posting type, Pre posting Component Repair Order Header in the Posting Control window.
• The component repair order must have been created and saved.

System Effects

• The system establishes a relationship between the code part and the component repair order, by entering a preposting connected to the component repair order.
• The code part values that you enter as a preposting for the component repair order will be transferred to any of the component repair order lines created thereafter and subsequently these code part values will be transferred to the repair orders once the component repair order line is released.

Procedure

1. Populate or query for the component repair order for which you want to make a preposting.
2. Right-click and then click Pre Posting.
3. Enter values for known code parts or click List to select code parts from the List of Values.
4. Click OK.
