This activity is used to specify the discrepancies found for the part on the disposition shop order line. The discrepancy code describes how the part deviates from its original fit and/or functions due to; damage, incorrect usage, exposed to wear, etc.
The discrepancy could either be corrected by executing an internal or an external repair. Each discrepancy is defined with a service source, which defines if the part should be repaired internally or externally.
The discrepancy codes are also used to select the appropriate repair codes when internal repair is selected as the service source. The discrepancy codes generate the repair work scope.
As a result of this activity, the specific discrepancies will be identified. The discrepancies will be used to select the appropriate repair codes. If the discrepancy code has a cross reference to a VIM (Fleet Management) fault code, a connection has been created that when the disposition line is approved, will create a fault history record for the serial in VIM.
