Connect Additional Parts to Design Part

Explanation

This activity is used to connect additional parts to a design part. Additional parts are secondary design parts which form the basis for purchasing the equipment, document the design in terms of equipment assembly, and provide an accurate spare parts list for the equipment object in IFS/Equipment. A single design part often consists of multiple additional parts.

Prerequisites

A design part class must be configured and should be defined with the Can Consist Of Class Relation.

Procedure

  1. Open the Design Part Consists of Parts window.
  2. Click New.
  3. In the Standard field, enter the name of the standard for the design part. Use the List of Values to select a suitable value. The standard of the default plant if defined in the User Settings dialog box, will be displayed by default.
  4. In the Design Part ID field, enter the design part for which you want to define an additional part. Use the List of Values to select a suitable design part.
  5. In the Consists of Design Part ID field, enter the ID of the additional part of which the design part consists. Use the List of Values to select a suitable value. Note: If the additional part is not found in the List of Values it may not yet have been created or the design part class is not set up to serve as a design part for the object's class according to the class' class relations.
  6. By default, the values for the Spare Part Qty and Purchase Qty fields are set to 1. Adjust these values, as required.
  7. Click Save. Note: If the additional part has an Unavailable status, a system prompt displays up asking if you want to add this additional part. Clicking Yes adds the unavailable additional part, whereas clicking No does not add the unavailable additional part.
  8. Repeat the above steps to add more additional parts.
