Handle Status on Design Object
Explanation
This activity is used to change the design status of a design object. The
following actions are used to change the design status:
- Set Planned for Operation
- Set Completed
- Set ReDesign
- Set Planned for Scrap
- Set Scrapped (for design status only). This command also exists for
operational status. Refer to Activity Set
In/Out of Operation for details on changing operational status.
Refer to About
Object Status for a complete description of status change (both design
status and operational status). Refer to About
Status Changes and IFS/Equipment for details on data transferred between the
two products.
Prerequisites
A design object must exist in IFS/Asset Design.
System Effects
Changing the design status may cause one or more of the following to occur:
- The design status is changed to another status.
- A parallel equipment object is created in IFS/Equipment and data is
transferred to it from the design object. If the equipment object
already exists in IFS/Equipment, only data is transferred.
- The design object's Functional Object Information command is
activated and enables navigation from the design object to the
equipment object within IFS/Equipment.
- Within the Business Object Explorer a small overlay may appears on the object's icon
indicating a change in design status. The object should be refreshed in the
navigator to view the change. To do this right-click on the design object
and click Refresh.
- The operational status (for both the design object and the equipment
object) may be affected.
- If the design object is connected to a linear asset (available if
IFS/Linear Asset is installed) a new revision of the linear asset will be
created.
