Reset Serial Number

Explanation

Use this function to detach the serial number from a part. This requires that the part already has a serial number. In order to detach a serial number, the flag Inventory Serial Tracking must not be set and the flag After Delivery Serial Tracking must be set. If none or both flags are set, you cannot reset the serial number. The flags are handled in Part. If the serial number has been set with the menu option Set Serial Number, use this function to reset the serial number to null. To reset the serial number, use the menu option Serials/Reset Serial.

Prerequisites

• The part must exist in Part.
• Inventory Serial Tracking flag should not be set.
• After Delivery Serial Tracking flag should be set.
• The part must have a serial number.

System Effects

• The part loses its serial number.

2. Point to the right mouse button menu option Serials, and then click on the Reset Serial option.
3. Save.
