Enter Work Hour Rule Parameter List

Explanation

This activity is used to enter a work hour rule parameter list. In the parameter list, you specify the values for a set of independent parameters, which affect how clocked hours are processed or how the result is calculated. A parameter list is connected to a rule type, which is then linked to the employee. 

The following parameters are available:

Limit for normal clocking

Indicates the limit for what is considered to be acceptable as the first clocking-in and last clocking-out of the Normal type. The first and last clocking within the intervals derived from the parameter value, the scheduled start and end times, and the flex intervals, will be recognized as correct. The first and last clocking outside the intervals will have an error note attached to it. The idea is to prevent that an employee that instead should have entered an overtime clocking misses the overtime compensation.  

The parameter value is specified in hours and hundredths. 

Example: 
Schedule start and end: 7:00 - 16:00; Flex interval is +/- 1.00; Parameter value = 1.00

This means that the first clocking-in (if the type is Normal) is accepted within the interval 5:00 - 7:00.

The last clocking-out (if the type is Normal) is accepted within the interval 16:00 -18:00.

Max allowed late arrival

Lets an employee clock in after the scheduled in-time without being docked for it. The latest clock-in time is at the scheduled start time plus the specified value. When you use this parameter, the result is compensated so that no deviation occurs upon comparison with the schedule time. The parameter value is specified in hours and hundredths.

Max allowed early departure

Lets an employee clock out before the scheduled out-time without being docked for it. The earliest clock-out time is at the scheduled end time minus the specified value. When you use this parameter, the result is compensated so that no deviation occurs upon comparison with the schedule time. The parameter value is specified in hours and hundredths.

Allowed positive diff. to schedule

The maximum value by which an employee's booked normal hours can exceed the scheduled normal hours without being marked as deviating. The Calculated not OK status that should have been entered in the time card is overridden, and the clocking is shown as approved for authorization. This lets you authorize the unfulfilled day without difficulties. The parameter value is specified in hours and hundredths.

Allowed negative diff. to schedule

The maximum value by which an employee's booked normal hours can fall short of the scheduled normal hours without being marked as deviating. The Calculated not OK status that should have been entered in the time card is overridden, and the clocking is shown as approved for authorization. This lets you authorize the not fulfilled day without difficulties. The parameter value is specified as a negative value in hours and hundredths.

Allowed positive diff. between presence and manufacturing hours

The maximum value by which the manufacturing time can exceed the employee's presence hours. When the maximum has not been reached, the manufacturing time will be completed in the Time Card Day window and available for authorization. This lets you authorize the unfulfilled day without difficulties. The parameter value is specified in hours and hundredths.

Allowed negative diff. between presence and manufacturing hours

The maximum value by which the manufacturing time can fall short of the employee's presence hours. When the maximum has not been reached, the manufacturing time will be completed in the Time Card Day window and available for authorization. This lets you authorize the not fulfilled day without difficulties. The parameter value is specified as a negative value in hours and hundredths.

Gross time normal hours

Used for contractors and consultants, for example, whose hours have to be calculated from the time of clocking in and out without taking account of any schedules, rules, or increments. The Value field specifies the normal working hours applicable for the persons who are linked to the parameter list.

The Gross time normal hours parameter acts together with the Allowed positive diff. to schedule and the Allowed negative diff. to schedule parameters. For example, if the Gross time normal hours = 8.00
Allowed positive diff. = 2.00
Allowed negative diff. = -2.00

Change the status on the clocking to Calculated OK, as long as the calculated time for the day keeps within the interval 6.0010.00 hours. This status means that the time can be authorized.

If you use Gross time normal hours, you also have to specify the values of the both other parameters. If you do not, the days that do not give exact values will be marked as Calculated not OK. This means that the Result field is selected by the authorization function, and that the day cannot be authorized. No other parameters are relevant if you use Gross time normal hours.

Ignore normal balance conversion for day completion

This parameter controls whether the day should be completed when normal time is converted to another wage type. Even if the employee reports normal hours to fulfill the scheduled hours for a day, the calculated normal hours may be less than the scheduled hours, depending on balance conversions. E.g. If employee is linked to a balance ID which accrues normal time, when the maximum balance limit exceeds, the normal hours may be converted to a separate wage code. Therefore, on the day that the balance exceeds, the employee will have less than the scheduled normal time registered in the result even if the total time is reported. In such cases, this parameter can be used to complete the attendance result for the day. That is, the Completed check box will be selected even if the final result does not fulfill the schedule.

Before entering a work hour rule parameter list, the wage class to which it refers must have been entered.
