Select Warranty Type

Explanation

Use this activity to connect a warranty type to a service request.

Prerequisites

Before the warranty type is selected, the following must have been completed:

• The warranty type must have been connected to the equipment object in IFS/Equipment, the Serial Object/Warranty tab. 

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the warranty type is included in the service request. The Customer Warranty and/or Supplier warranty check box on the Service Request/Prepare tab will be selected You can enter additional information for the service request/work order.

Procedure

Use the following procedure to select the warranty type for the service request:

1. In the Service Request window, right-click and then click Customer Warranty Type. Note: this option is not valid for VIM (vehicle information management) serial objects.  
2. Choose a warranty from the list and click OK.
