Create Symptom Code

Explanation

Use this activity to create a symptom code of the reported fault. The symptoms indicate a change from the normal operation of an object. This is helpful when preparing a Work Order, in troubleshooting and repairs and provides consistency as the symptom is selected from a pre-defined List of Values.

Prerequisites

Before information on a symptom code is entered, the following must have been completed:

• The user must be connected to a site. This must have been performed in Sites per User.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the symptom code can be used when a fault report is entered and may be used for analysis purposes.

Procedure

1. Select the Symptoms tab.
2. Use the New function.
3. In the Symptom field, enter a code for the symptom.
4. In the Description column, enter a short description of the symptom.
5. Save the information.
