Use this dialog box to generate a range of serial numbers.
The purpose of this dialog box is to handle occurrences where only numerical characters are used for the serial range. Furthermore, you can generate a sequence of serial numbers at once as opposed to defining each serial number independently. The serial range must consist of numerical characters only. Therefore, decimal values and values less than or equal to 0 are not allowed.
Observe the following example:
Assume you need to generate a serial range from SN-0001-X to SN-1000-X. You need
to complete the procedure using several steps as detailed in the following table,
Serial Range | Prefix | Suffix | |
a) | 1 - 9 | SN-000 | -X |
b) | 10-99 | SN-00 | -X |
c) | 100-999 | SN-0 | -X |
d) | 1000 | SN- | -X |
A maximum of ten sequence numbers will be displayed in the Serial No Range field after the generation is completed, for example, a generated serial number sequence from 100 to 123 will be displayed on three rows.
