Using Quick Reports

Explanation

Quick Reports can be used to print out any information from IFS Applications based on SQL statements, Crystal Reports etc. When running a Quick Report the result is presented in a table/overview page. From this page you have the option to export/transfer the information via an Output Channel or to view it via Quick Chart.

Quick Reports are usually defined by the System Administrator, read about how to create Quick Reports in the Administration Guide in the Technical Documentation.

Prerequisites

You must have the permission to use Quick Reports to be able to use them.

System Effects

Executing or printing a quick report will not save anything in the database. The quick reports will not end up in the Report Archive.

Procedure

The Reporting/Ad-Hoc Reporting navigator node includes the explore nodes, e.g. filter nodes, By Category and By Type. Expand a node and it will expand displaying existing Quick Reports. Click on an explore node and the result matching the filter will be displayed in the Quick Reports page.

The Quick Report table/overview page lists the available Quick Reports.

Run a Quick Report:

Highlight a report and open the context menu via right mouse button and select View Quick Report to execute the report.

If the Quick Report includes report parameters the Quick Report Query Parameters dialog will be displayed where you specify the selection criteria for the report. In this dialog you have the option to save parameters you use on a frequent basis via the Save button. Via the Saved Parameters drop-down list you can select from your saved parameters. Via the Add to Navigator button you can create a navigator node for the quick report including the parameters you have defined.
