Use this dialog box to perform internal operations reporting using bar codes (Note: This cannot be used to report outside operations). A bar code reader scans the bars and translates the patterns into normal characters. Each bar code begins with a start character and ends with a stop character. The reader detects the bar code and determines whether it is being scanned forward or backward.
Each operation has a unique system-generated operation ID. When an operation is created, this ID is sent to Barcode Services, and a new one is created. This is done by appending the existing ID to a bar code format specific to shop order operations, as defined in Barcode Services. Unless a custom format exists, the default bar code ID for an operation is the operation ID.
Note: Although Barcode Services offers great flexibility in defining bar code formats, a bar code format for a shop order operation must include the operation ID in the format definition to guarantee a unique bar code ID for every operation.
