Enter Freight Price List Charge Lines

Explanation

This activity is used to enter charge price lines of the freight price list or the direct delivery freight price list. The charge price lines are specified for different zones of the zone map. The charge line will have the freight rate for each zone, and it will be used to calculate the actual freight charge amount on the customer order line. The line will also have a minimum quantity specified, which means if the ordered quantity is more than that a different freight rate given in a different charge line may have to be used in the freight charge calculation.

Prerequisites

This activity has the below prerequisites:

• The price list header should exist.
• The required freight map and the zone definitions should exist. 

System Effects

• A freight rate is defined for different zones, different time intervals and different quantity intervals.
• The entered charges are applied as excluding tax unless the price list is defined as using price including tax. A freight price list will only be used on a sales quotation or a customer order with a similar usage of price including tax.

Procedure

1. Open the Freight Price List or the Direct Delivery Freight Price List window and query for the required freight price list.
2. Click on the Charges tab and then click on New.
3. Select the required zone ID from the List of Values.
4. Specify a value as the minimum quantity.
5. Enter a date to specify from when this charge line will be valid.
6. Specify the charge rate to be used in freight calculations.
7. Repeat steps 2-6, until all charge lines have been entered.
8. Save when done.

Note: If the Use Price Incl Tax check box is selected in the freight price list or direct delivery freight price list header, the value on the Charge Price field represents the charge price including tax value.
