Enter Inspection Location

Explanation

Receive cases that demand inspection require that an inspection location, named quality assurance in the system, is entered for the current site when you are entering the arrival. Locations are entered in Inventory Locations . Pallet handled parts need a pallet quality location for the inspection. (For further information about entering pallet quality locations, se separate activity.)

Prerequisites

A proper location group must have been entered.

System Effects

An inspection location that belongs to an appropriate location group is created.

Procedure

1. Open the Inventory Locations window and select New.
2. In the Site field, either enter the appropriate site or query for it.
3. Select New.
4. Enter a location number in the Location No column. The location number can be considered as the short code for the inventory location.
5. Enter the name of the warehouse. If your warehouse contains bay, row, tier, and bin numbers, specify these as well.
6. Enter the location name and location group in the corresponding columns. This information can be changed at a later time.
7. Save when completed.
