Insert Sub Projects
Explanation
After the project has been registered, you can register the subprojects in the
structure. This is done by using
Sub Projects or
Project
Navigator/Sub Project. Each subproject can only have one parent, but a
subproject can be parent to many subprojects.
Prerequisites
- The parent project or subproject must have been created. (See
Insert Project ID for how to create a new
project.)
System Effects
- A new subproject is created, and activities can be registered in the new subproject.

Procedure
There are two ways of creating a new sub project, either in
Project
Navigator/Sub Project or in
Sub Projects.
Project Navigator/Sub Project
- Select the desired parent in the graphical display (either the project or a subproject).
- Place the cursor in the
Sub Project tab, and create a new
subproject.
- Enter the subproject ID and subproject description. (The rest of the fields are
optional.)
- Save the new record.
Sub Projects
- Create a new record.
- Enter the project ID for the new subproject; use either the List of Values or F8 to choose a
project ID.
- Enter the subproject ID for the new subproject.
- If the subproject is not to be placed directly under the project, you must specify the
parent subproject ID. You can use either the List of Values or F8 to choose a subproject ID in
the selected project.
- Enter the subproject description.
- If desired, you can register the ID of the subproject manager and a department, but this
is not mandatory; these can be entered at any time.
- Save the new record.
