Cancel Maintenance Order
Explanation
This activity is used to cancel a maintenance order.
If this activity is performed on a maintenance order in
the New, Initial Scope Definition or Under Preparation
status, the entire maintenance order will be cancelled. This means that all
connected tasks will be cancelled and detailed data, such as, operations and
execution logic structures, removed.
If the maintenance order is in either the Released
or Started status, all connected tasks must be in the Cancelled
status before the maintenance order can be cancelled. Furthermore, you are
required to enter a valid cancellation cause when canceling these maintenance
orders. History records will be generated for released/started maintenance
orders that are cancelled.
Prerequisites
- A maintenance order in a status prior to Work
Done or Finished must exist.
- If a cancellation cause is required, the cause
must have been defined in basic data. You must have access to the
cancellation cause.
System Effects
- If the maintenance order was in the Under
Preparation status or an earlier status prior to canceling, all
connected tasks will be cancelled, data on the order removed and the
maintenance order will be deleted. The cancelled tasks can be redistributed.
- For maintenance orders that have been released or
started, the maintenance order and all connected task will be cancelled and
history records generated.
- If the maintenance order has the Execution
Logic Structure distribution type, and an Execution Logic Structure (ELS)
exists, this ELS will be removed when the maintenance order is cancelled.
This effect is valid for maintenance orders that are in the following
statuses: Initial Scope Definition, Under Preparation,
Released and Started.
