Register Family Forecast

Explanation

This activity is used to register a forecast for a spare part family. The forecast can be broken down to the spare part level by running either of the disaggregate right mouse button options. A forecast entered at the family level is not seen as a source of demand by MRP until it has been disaggregated down to the individual spare part level.

Prerequisites

A spare part family must have been created.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the system registers a forecast for a spare part family.

Procedure

1. Open the MRP Spare Part Family Forecast window.
2. In the Family Code list, select the spare part family.
3. Create a new record in the Family Forecasts tab.
4. Enter the date for the forecasted demand in the Forecast Date field.
5. Enter the forecasted quantity in the Forecast Qty field.
6. Select either Disaggregate or Do not disaggregate from the Allow Disaggregation list. If you select Disaggregate, the forecast is visible to the disaggregation process. If you select Do Not Disaggregate, the process is invisible to the disaggregation process.
7. Click Save.
