Import Consolidation File - Parent Company
Explanation
Use this activity to import a file
with consolidation information. If the subsidiary and the parent company keep accounts in
different databases, the subsidiary can create the consolidation information to a file.
The file can then be retrieved in the parent company.
Prerequisites
Before importing a consolidation file, the
following must have been completed:
- The subsidiary must have consolidated the
information and saved the information in a file. The file contains either general ledger
balances (for a period) or budget values.
System Effects
As a result the
Balance Transferred check box or Budget Transferred check box will
be selected in the Parent Consolidations window.

Procedure
Use the following procedure to retrieve consolidation
information from a file:
- Open the Parent Consolidations
window.
- Right-click and then click Import Subsidiary
Consolidation File. This will open the Consolidation File Name
dialog box.
- Enter the name of the file containing the consolidation
information.
- Click OK.
