Define Qualities

Explanation

Use this activity to define different qualities or variations of a product to be produced. When you record a Production Change or Completed Production event you are required to specify a product quality. When a Scrapping event is reported the quality is retrieved by means of the connected Completed Production event. When a Stop event is reported the quality is retrieved automatically from the last available Production Change event.

Once one or more qualities are defined for a product, you can define production rate goals for each product and quality combination in the production unit. For more information, refer the online help file: Define Production Rates.

Prerequisites

A product must have been created in the Define Products window (setup OEE).

Procedure

1. Open the Setup OEE window.
2. Click Define Products and Qualities to open the Define Products window.
3. Locate the product you want and click the available link for the selected record. This link is found in the Products and Qualities column. The Define Products and Qualities window is opened.
4. Create a new product quality in the table of the window. You have several options to choose from when creating a new record (a) click Add (b) double-click on an existing record or, (c) right-click anywhere in the table, and then click Insert.
5. In the Quality ID field, enter a unique ID code for the new product quality.
6. Enter a description for the new product quality in the Description field.
7. Select the Active check box to activate the new product quality.
8. Save the record.
