Receive Reserved Lots
Explanation
Use this activity to manually receive a reserved Lot/ Batch into inventory.
If Catch Unit Enabled check box is selected for
the part in the Part window, the value should be entered in the
Catch U/M field in the
Receive Reserved Lots window.
Prerequisites
This activity requires that:
- The material must be issued before receiving.
- If the order is connected to a control plan for which the Receipt Not
Allowed check box is selected, the control plan analysis needs to be
confirmed and all time triggers need to be stopped.
- If Shop Floor Workbench is used for receipt, the Inventory Valuation Method
of the part must be set to Standard Cost or Weighted Average
in Inventory Part/Misc Part Info tab.
System Effects
As a result of this action the system receives the part at the specified inventory
location. When you enter the shop order, you can specify that it
should be closed automatically, provided that the number of parts received is within the
closure tolerance. If it is, the shop order is closed automatically. If you have selected
manual closure, you must close the shop order after you have completed the receipt.
If the shop order is customer order-based and was created when a customer order line was
entered, the received part is automatically reserved for the customer order line. A
Work In Process (WIP)
transaction is created.
