Use this activity to create Kanban cards to replace those that have been lost or otherwise made Obsolete, or when circumstances call for an increase in the number of cards for the circuit. You can create replenishable cards either automatically or manually, based on either system calculations or your own judgment. To meet a one-time increase in demand, the system allows you to create temporary non-replenishable cards.
You can use the Cards tab of the Kanban Circuit window to create new cards manually. Cards with the Surplus status will be used before creating any new cards.
The Kanban Audit report allows you to compare the cards expected in a circuit to those actually in circulation. The results of this audit could lead to the removal of lost cards and the introduction of new replacement cards.
This activity requires that an active Kanban circuit be defined.
As a result of this activity the system creates new cards with a status of New. These cards can be deployed and printed. As you add or subtract cards, the value in the Cards to Add/Subtract field changes. A positive value in this field indicates that more cards are needed to match the number required for the circuit; a negative value indicates that too many cards exist and that some non-replenishable cards should be removed.
