Confirm Resource Breaks

Explanation

Use this activity to confirm a resource break which is in Proposed state. The status of the break changes to Scheduled. A Scheduled break is taken into account when orders are scheduled using Constraint Based Scheduling (CBS), not when using the Shop Order Infinite Scheduler.

Prerequisites

• To perform this activity using the Resource Break window, the site needs to be connected to a CBS server.
• A resource break in Proposed state must exist.

System Effects

As a result of this activity the status of the resource break changes from Proposed to Scheduled. However, before it makes this change, the system checks to see if the break overlaps with any operations or breaks which are in Released state. If it does, an error message appears and the activity is canceled. If the break does not overlap with any existing operations or breaks which are in Released state, then all operations that are simultaneous with and downstream from the start of the break are rescheduled.

Procedure

1. Populate the window.
2. Select the resource break(s) you want to confirm.
3. Right-click and then click Confirm. The Start Date and Finish Date fields are automatically filled in by the system and the status of the selected break(s) changes to Scheduled.
4. Indicate whether reassignment of resources is allowed for the operations that are rescheduled.
