Define Zones and Access Panels for Instruction and Subtask

Explanation

This activity is used to define zones and access panels for an instruction or subtask.

Instructions and subtasks define the work that needs to be done and often where it physically has to be done. In Aviation, the physical location of the work is most commonly defined by aircraft zones and access panels. Each instruction or subtask can have references to multiple aircraft zones and access panels.

Zones and access panels cannot be defined for both the instruction and connected subtasks. For instance, if an instruction exists with one or more connected subtasks, it will not be possible to register any zones and access panels for the instruction. If the instruction has zones and access panels prior to connecting a subtask, you will be allowed to connect the subtask only if the instruction is in the Preliminary status. When the instruction is activated, the zones and access panels will be removed automatically.

The zones and access panels defined for the instruction or subtask will be included when maintenance tasks are distributed to a work order in IFS/Work Order Management.

Prerequisites

System Effects

As a result of this activity, it will be possible to group instructions and subtasks by zones and/or access panels, e.g., for planning work orders.
