Enter Basic Data for Work Center Department

Explanation

Use this activity to define a work center department. This allows you to logically group together work centers within a site. Departments are not used for capacity calculations, only for cost and time monitoring.

Prerequisites

This activity requires that you must have entered a site to which you can connect the work center department.

System Effects

As a result of this activity:

• A new work center department is created.
• Work centers within the same site can be grouped by department.

Procedure

1. Open the Manufacturing Standard Basic Data window
2. Click the Work Center Department tab.
3. Select New.
4. Using no more than 5 alphanumeric characters, enter the number of the department you want to create in the Department No column.
5. Enter a description of the department in the Description column.
6. Select the site to which you are connecting the department in the Site column. Use the List of Values to select from available sites.
7. Save the changes.
