Define Work Guideline Template

Explanation

Use this activity to define templates for work guidelines. Work guideline templates allow you to define a library of generic or standard instructions for use on structures, routings, allocations, or operations. These templates are independent of any structure or routing and can be modified or even deleted at any time. Work guidelines can be used to warn you about the hazards or special handling properties of the material being used. Used with routings, they allow you to give step by step instructions about performing an operation. Additionally, they provide a standard location to store inspection and safety notes.

• A guideline template is created.
• The template ID is available in a List of Values, and can be selected in multiple windows.

Procedure

1. Open the Work Guideline Template window.
2. Click New.
3. Enter a guideline description. The guideline ID is created automatically.
4. Enter a guideline text.
5. Save the record (F12).
