Remove a Task

Explanation

Use this activity to remove one or more tasks from a work scope. Ideally, this activity can be performed to remove unwanted tasks ahead of the release of a work scope.

As a result of this activity, the task is removed from the work scope and the status of the task is changed to Removed.

Procedure

Follow this procedure to remove a task from the work scope:

Note: You can also use the Change Work Scope Tasks window to remove tasks from a work scope.

  1. Open the Define Work Scope window.
  2. In the Work Order No field, query (F3) for the work order to which your work order part belongs.
  3. Click the Work Scope Tasks tab to verify the task you intend to remove.
  4. Right-click anywhere in the header of the Define Work Scope window, and then click Task Summary. The Task Summary window opens. (If preferred, select the relevant right mouse button option to open the Change Work Scope Tasks window.)
  5. Click the Modification tab.
  6. Select the All Running option. The table in the window will display all running tasks for the modification.
  7. Clear the Include In Workscope check box for the tasks you want to remove from the work scope.
  8. Save the record (F12).
  9. Right-click on the header of the Task Summary window, and then click Define Shop Visit Work Scope. The Define Work Scope window opens with the relevant details.
    Alternatively, if you already have the Define Work Scope window open, simply refresh the data (i.e., in the Work Order No list, re-select your work order) to incorporate the new changes.
  10. Click the Work Scope Tasks tab to view the tasks that are removed from the work scope. The status of the task is automatically set to Removed (as illustrated in the State field).
