Overview and Features

IFS Business Analytics is a business intelligence solution that extends Microsoft Excel from a desktop productivity tool to a full-fledged enterprise-scale client for reporting and analysis for not only easier but more efficient and secure reporting.

The design, presentation and analysis features available within IFS Business Analytics are based on Microsoft Excel native functions. Meta data presented in Microsoft Excel transforms data from any business process within IFS Applications into logical information sources that makes the information easily accessible, even for non-technical business managers. You can use your basic Microsoft Excel knowledge to create and roll out fully functional enterprise reports that are presented and analyzed interactively in workbooks.

IFS Business Analytics contains a database repository which simplifies the process of publishing and locating reports. Reports created are processed and delivered through IFS Applications providing a secure, centralized way of generating, managing and delivering Microsoft Excel spreadsheet reports. Reports can be scheduled and automatically stored within IFS Document Management, creating secure workspaces for collaborating and sharing information. Report users can take advantage of parameterized reports with drill-down and zoom-in functionality that provides instant access to related details through embedded links. Moreover it is possible to move seamlessly to IFS Applications to get details which enable instant investigation or actions in the correct business context for the details.

A great deal of the functionality available within IFS Business Analytics has been designed to make it easier to extend planning and reporting and to cover a wider range of business areas and to combine them cross functionally. Information about projects, financials, assets and manufacturing can be easily integrated to IFS Business Analytics as does maintenance, supply chain and workforce. A sophisticated writeback logic can be used to update planning data which are updated within IFS Business Analytics from Microsoft Excel to IFS Applications.
