[IFS/BA Designer Help Guide]

Apply Structure Repeaters

Explanation

This activity can be used to create structure reports based on structures in IFS Applications. A structure created in IFS Business Analytics always consists of nodes and leaves. A leaf is a code part connected for accounting structures and an activity defined in engineering projects. Levels can also be defined for a structure and used in the report design. However the use of levels are optional. IFS Business Analytics Structure report can be used to combine data from multiple structures.

When a structure repeater item is used as a repeater, the Structure Details will be enabled. You must define a structure ID and entry point details in the Structure Details dialog box. By using Criteria you can filter the information shown in the report. For example, specific nodes can be included or excluded using this option. There are also possibilities to define which leaves to include in the report; all leaves, leaves attached to the current level or leaves attached to the levels below. Report parameters for nodes or levels can be used to define the entry point.

Prerequisites

To create a structure report select an information source with structure repeater items. There should be a structure defined in IFS Applications which will be used as the base when creating a structure report in IFS Business Analytics.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the executed report will display information using a IFS Applications defined structure in the format of the report designed.

  5. Drag a Structure Repeater item from the Display Items pane into the Display Items field within the Repeater tab for the first two repeater rows.
  6. Drag the code part in to the third repeater row.
  7. Select the relevant structure repeater item from the Display Items pane and drag it to the Display Items field in the Repeater tab. Structure Details link will be visible just after dragging the relevant structure repeater item to the display item field. You can use, Structure Details window which will be loaded by clicking the Structure Details link to enter the particular Structure Id.
  8. Open the Node/Level dialog box in the first repeater to select an Entry Point.

  15. Click Execute.
  16. Compare the executed report with design.
  17. To modify the design select Go to Design.
  18. Change the Leaves included drop down box to Only Attached to Levels Below and clear the Include Selected Node Only check box, to obtain information to the level below for all nodes selected for the level.
  19. Click Execute.

Note: Parameters can be used to define the entry point for the report. This is done in the Parameter pane of Select Node/Level dialog box. To make this possible a parameter for level or node need to be defined in the report under the Parameter pane.
