Delivery Project

Delivery projects are projects that are used for project-driven assembly purposes. Delivery projects must already exist as general projects in the IFS/Project module. The overview form Delivery Projectsprovides a view of all other projects defined as delivery projects in IFS/Project Delivery. You can obtain a list of the parts in the selected projects by selecting Project Item Info, or Project Product Info from the menu. You can obtain details of the project in IFS/Project by selecting Project Info from the menu.

You can also transfer a project to IFS Maintenance by selecting Transfer To Maintenance from the menu.

Workflow

Creating: The new delivery project must already exist as a project in IFS/Project. You can register all projects in IFS/Project as delivery projects. The entire structure of a project can be copied using the Copy Project option in the menu.

Modifying: The top part can be entered at any time but cannot be modified once registered.

Removing: Before you remove a master project, all parts connected to the project must be removed. The material procurement list, delivery activities, tags, spare parts, documents, document requirement, and approval routing are automatically deleted when the delivery project is removed. The delivery project can also be deleted using the Delete Project menu option in the IFS/Project module. NOTE: The project cannot be removed if project material is currently in the procurement process due to pending material requisitions in IFS Supply Chain.

Important Term

Tag: An address in the product structure. As the product is maintained, several parts can be used sequentially as replacements in one single tag position. The tag is used to contain additional information on the physical location of the part in the product. The tag number refers to a tag that contains this information. The project tags are defined in the Tag tab window. Parts with tags are created as functional objects in IFS Maintenance.
