Define Site

Explanation

This activity is used to define a site. Sites can be used to create physical counts. Once a site defined using this activity is made a distribution site, it can also be used for processes in IFS/Distribution such as entering customer orders and entering purchase orders that require the use of a site.

Prerequisites

A company to which the new site should be connected to must exist in the system.

System Effects

As a result of this activity,

• It will be possible to use the site to carry out a physical count.
• It will be possible to enter one or more object physical locations for the site.
• The site can be made a distribution site by entering a distribution calendar, a manufacturing calendar and other relevant information in the Site window.

Procedure

1. Open the Sites for Fixed Assets window and create a new record.
2. Enter an ID for the new site in the Site ID field.
3. Enter a description for the new site in the Site Description field.
4. Enter the company that the site belongs to in the Company field using the List of Values.
5. Save the information.
