Unpack External Input File

Explanation

Use this activity to perform the unpack step after having loaded/read an external file.

This is the second step when performing a Complete Input Flow. The file lines previously loaded via the Load External Input File activity and defined as external file transactions will now be unpacked according to file template instructions. If the unpack step encounters errors then the each incorrect line/transaxction will get an error status and the error can be seen in the Error Text column in the detail part of the External File Transactions window.

It is possible to edit loaded file lines directly in External File Transactions window and re-execute the Unpack step.

Prerequisites

An external load must have been created and should be in state Loaded or Unpacked.

System Effects

The previously read input file lines will be unpacked by using the unpack instructions according to the external file template details and control statements associated with the input options for the template. The load will get the state Unpacked.
