Explanation

Use this activity to define National Codification Bureau code.

Each country participating in the NATO Codification System (NCS) has a National Codification Bureau (NCB). The National Codification Bureau within each country centrally assigns their NATO Stock Numbers (NSN's). Each country has its own two-digit NCB code.

Procedure

  1. Open the NATO Codification Standards Basic Data window.
  2. Click the National Codification Bureau tab and create a new record (F5).
  3. In the National Codification Bureau Code field, enter a unique two-digit code. Note: The NCB code must contain numeric characters only.
  4. Enter a description of the code in the NCB Code Description field. (If you leave the field of  NCB Code Description empty the country code description you enter is automatically fetched to the NCB Code Description field).
  5. Enter the corresponding ISO country code in the field Country Code if desired. Use List of Values to select a valid value.
  6. Save the record (F12).
