Connect Object to NATO Commercial and Government Entity 

Explanation

Use this activity to connect an object to a NATO Commercial and Government Entity (NCAGE). This object can be a company, customer, supplier, manufacturer, site, owner, and/or forwarder.

The connection of an object to a NCAGE is done in the same way as connecting a document. Note: If an object is to be connected, it is assumed that its component is installed. For example, if a company is to be connected, the component IFS/Enterprise must be installed. An object is easy to configure for connection to an NCAGE.

The following rules apply to objects connected to a NCAGE:

Procedure

Use this procedure to connect an object to an NCAGE:

  1. Open the window which contains the object you want to connect to the NCAGE. All applicable windows are listed under Windows. Note: You can also use the relevant overview windows, e.g., Companies to perform this activity.
  2. Query (F3) for the required object.
  3. Click the Attachments panel.
  4. Click NATO Commercial and Government Entity.
  5. Right-click on the field and then click New.
  6. The New NATO Commercial and Government Entity dialog box opens.
  7. In the NCAGE ID field, enter the NCAGE to which the object is to be connected. Use the List of Values to select a valid value.
  8. Click OK.

Use this procedure to remove the connection between the object and the NCAGE:

  1. Open the window which contains the object to which an NCAGE is connected. All applicable windows are listed under Windows. Note: You can also use the relevant overview windows, e.g., Companies to perform this activity.
  2. Query (F3) for the required object.
  3. Click the Attachments panel.
  4. Click NATO Commercial and Government Entity.
  5. Right-click on the connected NCAGE and then click Detach.
  6. Click Yes on the information message that appears.

Optional Procedure:

Use this procedure to view the objects which are connected to a NCAGE:

  1. Open the NATO Commercial and Government Entity window and query (F3) for your NCAGE ID. Note: This procedure can be performed using the Objects Connected to NCAGE Codes window as well.
  2. Click the Connected Objects tab to view information on the objects which are connected to your NCAGE.
