Connect Object to NATO Commercial and Government Entity
Explanation
Use this activity to connect an object to a NATO
Commercial and Government Entity (NCAGE). This object can be a company,
customer, supplier, manufacturer, site, owner, and/or forwarder.
The connection of an object to a NCAGE is done in the same way as connecting
a document. Note: If an object is to be connected, it is assumed that its
component is installed. For example, if a company is to be
connected, the component IFS/Enterprise must be installed. An object is easy to configure for
connection to an NCAGE.
The following rules apply to objects connected to a NCAGE:
- One specific object, such as, customer A or manufacturer
B, can only be connected to one NCAGE.
- One NCAGE can have several connected objects of the same type, such as
several customers or several manufacturers, as long as the object IDs (e.g.,
customer ID, manufacturer ID) are not the same.
- If an object of type Site is connected to a NCAGE, the company of that specific site
cannot be connected to a
different NCAGE.
- If an object of type Company is connected to a NCAGE, all sites belonging
to that specific company
cannot be connected to a
different NCAGE.
Prerequisites
- The NCAGE must be defined
before the connection can take place.
- The required objects must be defined before the connection can take place.
