Approve or Re-open CRO Line Tasks

Explanation

This activity is used to create and approve modification tasks included in the work scope on the component repair order (CRO) line. The reason for performing a modification could for instance be a service bulletin initiated by a supplier of a specific part included in the parts configuration. Another example is new government directives which prompt the need of a modification.

Modifications are created directly in the Modification Repair Code window or transferred from VIM (Fleet Management). The modification category could be either; Optional, Recommended or Mandatory.

If a VIM modification is included in the work scope, a modification task will be created automatically in VIM upon approval. The reason for this is to keep track of all modifications embodied for a specific VIM-tracked serial. When signing off the work on the CRO line for a VIM modification the VIM tasks are signed off as well and the serial and modification history in VIM will be updated to ensure regulatory compliance.

Tasks need to be approved only if disposition shop order is selected as repair order type for a component repair order line. From the component repair order line it is possible to select the active modifications to be included in the work scope and the parts to be included. You must approve all existing tasks before the component repair order line can be released for repair.
