Enter Business Area Information

Explanation

Use this activity to define or edit business areas used in audit planning. A business area is defined as an area in which compliances with reference standards can be audited. A business area can, for instance, be a site, department or a process within the company.

Procedure

  1. On the Audit Basic Data window, click the Business Area tab.
  2. Create a new record.
  3. In the Business Area ID column, enter a short code for the business area. Entering a value in this field is mandatory.
  4. In the Description column, enter a description of the business area. Entering a value in this field is mandatory.
  5. In the Notes column, enter a note regarding the business area. Entering a value in this field is optional.
  6. Save when complete.

Optional step (remember to save your entries):

A business area can be set as obsolete so that it can no longer be used when creating new audits or compliance plan records. Setting a business area to obsolete will not affect any existing use of the business area.

  1. To set a business area to obsolete, select the Obsolete check box for the required business area.
  2. Save when complete.

Note: You can translate the description into different languages using the basic data translation functionality. Select a record, right-click and then click Translation. In the Basic Data Translation window, enter descriptions per language.
