Use Simplified Revision Handling for Control Plan

Explanation

Use this activity to apply simplified revision handling to a Control Plan - Manufacturing, Control Plan - Purchasing or Control Plan - Inventory. Simplified revision handling could be set for a site, for a specific part or for a specific part at a specific site.

System Effects

As a result of this activity it will be possible to edit selected control plans in status Active and Inactive without having to create a new control plan revision.

Possible changes will be:

• Edit, add or delete existing control plan lines, sample frequency triggers and tools.
• Change Category Entry type
• Minor changes on header information.

Note: No Acceptance Sampling parameters will be editable. To change these parameters, a new control plan revision needs to be created.

Procedure

1. Open the Quality Basic Data window.
2. You have the following options when to use simplified revision handling.
   

   Set by Part Number

   Set by Site

   Set by Part Number and Site

Apply Simplified Revision Handling by Part Number

1. Click the Part tab.
2. Populate the window or query for a part number.
3. Select the Simplified Revision Handling check box.
4. Save the record.

Apply Simplified Revision Handling by Site

1. Click the Site tab.
2. Populate the window or query for a site.
3. Select the Simplified Revision Handling check box.
4. Save the record.

Apply Simplified Revision Handling by Part Number per Site

1. Click the Part/Site tab.
2. You now have the following options

   Simplified Revision Handling for Manufactured Parts

   Simplified Revision Handling for Purchased Parts

   Simplified Revision Handling for Inventory Parts

Apply Simplified Revision Handling by Part Number per Site for Manufactured Parts

1. Click the Manufactured Part/Site tab.
2. Populate the window or query for a part number.
3. Select the Simplified Revision Handling check box.
4. Save the record.

Apply Simplified Revision Handling by Part Number per site for Purchased Parts

1. Click the Purchasing Part/Site tab.
2. Populate the window or query for a part number.
3. Select the Simplified Revision Handling check box.
4. Save the record.
