This activity is used to enter basic data settings related to shop floor reporting.

Procedure

  1. Open the Site window and click the Extended Site Info/Manufacturing/General tab. Query for the site.
  2. In Calendar Consideration field, you choose how you want the system to calculate the time result from reported clocking intervals that falls outside the calendar. If you want the time result to only consider time intervals calculated as valid from an attendance perspective, select the Base Labor Result on Attendance check box.
  3. In Reporting Mode field you choose whether the reported labor time should be registered on employees or anonymously.
  4. If you want the system to automatically trigger the Enter As dialog box, after Shop Floor Workbench window has been left idle for some time, select the Auto Trigger Enter As Dialog check box and enter the number of seconds when the dialog should be triggered in Time Idle field.
  5. If you select the Authorization Required check box, it indicates that manufacturing transactions can be authorized. If the site requires authorization, then in order to transfer the transactions to finance the transactions should be authorized.
  6. If you select the Override Employee Cost check box, it indicates that the labor cost for the transaction will be fetched from the labor class on the shop order operation, for the reported time type (i.e., setup or run). If this check box is not selected, the cost will be fetched either from HR or from the labor class that the employee belongs to.
  7. If you select the Default Time and Quantities on Report check box in Site/Extended Site Info/Manufacturing tab, the system will suggest the quantity and time to be reported when approving shop order operations in Shop Floor Workbench. If this check box is not selected, the quantity and time to be reported has to be entered manually.
  8. If you select the Receive by-products into inventory after approve operation check box, a dialog box to receive by-product will appear after the approve operation in Shop Floor Workbench window. The dialog box will open only when reporting operations and shop orders with by-products and after selecting Approve Op button for the selected operation in Shop Floor Workbench window.
  9. Save your changes.
  10. Open the Work Center window and query for the relevant work center.
  11. Select whether you want to allow several operations to be run on the same work center resource simultaneously or not in the Concurrent Operations list. If concurrent operations are allowed, also select whether simultaneously started operations should be run in sequence or in parallel.
  12. If you want the resource share to be automatically distributed between operations performed overlapping/in parallel by the same work center resource, select the Calculate Actual Resource Share check box.
  13. If you want the system to automatically stop the machine clocking when the last labor clocking on the operation is automatically stopped, select the Auto Stop Machine Clocking check box.
  14. If you want to receive the shop order into stock when approving its operation, select the Receive into Inventory on Last Operation check box.
  15. Save your changes.
