Define Acquisition Register
Explanation
This activity is used to define the equity elimination transaction postings
related to an acquisition transaction which should be created in the group
consolidation process.
Prerequisites
In order to perform this activity,
- A master company (i.e. a company with the Master Company check box selected in the Company/General
tab) and
- One or more Equity Elimination Types should exist.
System Effects
As a result of this activity, the equity elimination postings related to an
acquisition transaction are defined

Procedure
To define equity elimination transactions:
- Open the Acquisition Register window and create a new
record.
- Enter the ID of the investor reporting entity in the Reporting Entity
field in the Investor Details group box.
- Enter the ID of the investee reporting entity in the Reporting Entity
field in the Investee Details group box.
- Create a new record in the Transaction Details section to enter
details of the investment transaction.
- Enter the date of the transaction in the Date field.
- Modify the value displayed in the Start Period field if required. (Note:
A value is automatically displayed when the date is entered.)
- Enter the currency exchange rate of the investment transaction between
investor currency and investee currency in the Currency Rate field.
- Double click on the Notes check box, if you want to enter notes.
- Enter a description in the Comment field if required.
- Create a new record in the Elimination Details section to enter
the elimination posting details of the acquisition transaction.
- Enter the elimination type on which the postings should be entered in
the Elimination Type field. The List of Values can be used to select
the required elimination type.
- Enter the account of the elimination posting in the Account
field. The List of Values can be used to select the required account.
- If relevant, enter the period from which the amortization should be started in the
Amortization Start Period field.
- If relevant, enter the number of periods that the amortization should be carried out
in the No of Amortization Periods field.
- Enter the debit group amount in investor's currency in the Group
Debit in Investor's Currency field.*
- Enter the credit group amount in investor's currency in the Group
Credit in Investor's Currency field.*
- Enter the debit group amount in investee's currency in the Group
Debit in Investee's Currency field.
- Enter the credit group amount in investee's currency in the Group
Credit in Investee's Currency field.
- Enter the debit non controlling interest amount in investor's currency
in the NCI Debit in Investor's Currency field.*
- Enter the credit non controlling interest amount in investor's currency
in the NCI Credit in Investor's Currency field.*
- Enter the debit non controlling interest amount in investee's currency
in the NCI Credit in Investee's Currency field.
- Enter the credit non controlling interest amount in investee's currency
in the NCI Credit in Investee's Currency field.
- Specify the code string information for the elimination posting by
entering the required values in the code part fields.
- Repeat steps 10 to 23 as many times as required.
- Save the information.
* Note: This field is visible only if the investor's currency is different to
the investee's currency.
