Set Work Assignment to Handover

Explanation

This activity is used to handover work defined on a Work Assignment. If the work defined on a work assignment could not be finalized with the given resource within the given time frame it can be set to status Handover. The action allows for the work can be picked up by another resource from the Unassigned Work tab in My Work window with a checked checkbox in column Handover for the task. When setting the work assignment to Handover, the Report Action Taken dialog appears where actions taken and remaining work can be described.

When the succeeding resource assigns or starts the work from Unassigned Work tab a new assignment is created and the original work assignment in status Handover will be set to status Completed. Thus, when using Handover status it is not needed to create a new work task or resource demand manually to complete the remaining work.

The primary use of handover assignment functionality is for simple work handover, such as in shift hand over when next execution is in near future and will not need new planning and the successing executor is unknown at the moment of handover. The functionality is used for manual allocations only and only in My Work window in IEE.

Since it is not the same person that will execute next step and if visit chain exist when Handover status is set, work assignments related to follow on visits will be removed.
