Report in Performed Work

Explanation

Use this activity to report in work that have been performed on a work task. There are several terms to classify work and follow up work, including performed action, failing component, cause, function, fault type, class, description of the work, start and completion dates, etc.

Procedure

  1. Open the Work Task window and query for the relevant work task.  
  2. Navigate to Object tab to enter information related to a failure.
    1. Optionally, enter or modify the value in the Item Class field.
    2. Enter a value in the Cause field. Use the List of Values to select a suitable combination of cause, failing component, fault type and function. This will automatically fetch a value to the Failing Component field, if defined on the selected cause, and values to Fault Type and Function fields.
    3. Enter or modify value in the Fault Type field. Use the List of Values to select a suitable value.
    4. Enter or modify value in the Function field, if an item class has been entered. Use the List of Values to select suitable values.
  3. Navigate to General tab to enter information about the performed actions.
    1. Enter a value in the Class ID field. Use the List of Values to select a suitable value.
    2. Enter a values in the Performed Action field. Use the List of Values to select a suitable value.
    3. Enter a description of the work that was performed in the Performed Work field. You can activate text editors by double-clicking the left mouse button in the field.
    4. Fill in the Actual Start field with the date when the work started.
    5. Fill in the Actual Finish field with the date when the work was finished.
  4. Save the information.
