Cancel Work Task
Explanation
This activity is used to
cancel a work task. When cancelling the work task, a cancellation cause must be
given. There are several conditions that must be met to be able to cancel the
work task. These are described under Prerequisites.
Prerequisites
Before cancelling the work task, the following conditions must be met:
- The Work Task must exist in the New, Under
Preparation, Prepared, Released
or Work Started status
- The Work Task cannot be on hold
- Task Steps must not exist in the Done status
- If
there are Work
Assignments, they should be in Cancelled, Assigned or
Accepted status
- Cost lines or sales lines must not exist on the Work Task
- Released Purchase Requisition lines and Purchase orders lines connected to the
Work Task must not exist
- The Work Task must not have been transferred to Mobile.
- The cause for cancelling must be defined in
Work Task Basic Data/Cancel Cause tab.
- If Cancel Cause Access is to be used, it has to be defined in
System

- Object LU: CancelTaskCause
- Property Name: USE_CNCL_CAUSE_ACCSS should be set to TRUE
- If Cancel Cause Access functionality is used, the cancel cause
access can be defined in Work Task Basic Data/Cancel

System Effects
As a result of this activity, the work task will be set to the Cancelled
status and no
further work can be planned or executed on the work task.
- Work Task dependencies are removed
- Purchase requisitions lines connected to the Work Task are removed
- If a duplicate Work Task exists, it can be Cancelled if the check-box
Cancel All Duplicate Work Tasks
is selected in the Cancellation dialog
- If Work Assignments exist, they will be removed
- A journal entry is created for this event. Journal entries are generated in the
Journal tab found in the Prepare Work Order and
Report In Work Order

Procedure
Use the following procedure to enter the information:
- Open the Work Task or the
Work Tasks window. Alternatively, select the
Work Task tab in the
Prepare Work Order or the
Work Order
Structure window.
- Depending on the window with which you are working, search for the work task
or search for the work order and then select the relevant work task.
- Right-click, point to Status, and then click
Cancelled.
- The Cancellation dialog box opens.
- Click List to select a valid
Cause.
- Optionally, enter a Cancellation Comment
- Click OK to save the information and close the dialog
box.
