Cancel Work Assignment
Explanation
This activity is used to change the status of a
work assignment to Cancelled.
When cancelling a work assignment, a cancellation cause must be entered.
Prerequisites
Before the status is changed, the following must have been completed:
- The work assignment must exist.
- The work assignment must not contain the Task Leader flag.
- Reporting against the work assignment must not exist.
- The cause for canceling must be defined in
Work Task Basic Data/Cancel Cause tab.
- If Cancel Cause Access is to be used, it has to be defined in System
Definitions/Object Property.
- Object LU: CancelTaskCause
- Property Name: USE_CNCL_CAUSE_ACCSS should be set to TRUE
- If Cancel Cause Access functionality is used, then the cancel cause
access can be defined in Work Task Basic Data/Cancel
Cause Access tab.
System Effects
- The status of the work assignment is changed to Cancelled.
- A journal entry is created for this event. Journal entries are generated in the
Journal tab found in the Prepare Work Order and
Report In Work Order
windows.
- If the Allow Multiple Visits check box is selected for the work
task and visit chain exists, work assignments related to follow on visits
are removed as below
- If the follow on work assignment status is Assigned and not sent to
mobile then it will be removed.
- If the follow on work assignment status is Accepted or higher or
work assignment is sent to mobile, then it will be Canceled

Procedure
Use the following procedure to change the status using
the
Work Assignments window.
- Open the
Work Assignments window.
- Query for the work assignment (F3). (If the assignment no is unknown, a combination of work order and/or work task no can be used to find the assignment no.).
- Right-click, point to Status and then click Cancelled.
- In the dialogue that appears, enter a cancellation Cause, by using the List
button to select the appropriate Cause.
- Click OK.
Use the following procedure to change the status using the
Work Task,
Prepare Work Order or
Work Order
Structure window.
- Open the Work Task, alternatively select the
Work Task tab in the
Prepare Work Order or the
Work Order
Structure window.
- Query the work order and then select the appropriate work task.
- Click the
Work Assignments tab.
- Right-click, point to Status and then click Cancelled.
- In the dialogue that appears, enter a cancellation Cause, by using the List button to select the appropriate Cause.
- Click OK.
