Select Equipment Object and Address

Explanation

Use this activity to select the equipment object that is to be included in the service request. If the object is linked to a location which has several valid visit addresses, you can also select a combination of object, location and address.

Prerequisites

Before the equipment object and address can be selected, the following must have been completed:

• The customer must have been entered in Service Request. 
• The object must have been entered in IFS/Equipment. The object must also have been connected to the customer and location.
• the location must have a valid visit address connected to the customer in Location/Addresses. 

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the equipment object with a location and address is included in the service request.

The location visit address marked as “Primary Address” for the relevant party is fetched by default to the work order, if it’s valid on the work order start date. Else, another valid visit address from the location is used. If the address fetched isn’t valid throughout the work order execution period, you need to manually change it.
 

You can enter additional information for the service request/work order.

Procedure

Use the following procedure to select the object for the service request:

1. Right-click and click Objects for Customer. The Objects for Customer dialog box is displayed.
2. Mark one object. Note that there can be several rows for the same object as there can be several addresses for the same location.
