Enter Mandatory Information, Fault Report

Explanation

Use this activity to enter mandatory information such as who reported the fault, a short description of the fault, and maintenance organization that will receive the fault report.

Prerequisites

Basic data related to a service request such as maintenance organization and work type should be defined in the IFS/Basic Data for Maintenance.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, a fault report with a work order number is created.

Procedure

  1. Open the Fault Report window and create a new record (F5). The system's date is displayed by default in the Date field. Change this value if necessary.
  2. The Site field displays the user's default site. Use the List of Values to select another site that the user is connected to, if appropriate.
  3. Enter values in the Reported by, Directive, and Maintenance Organization fields. Use the List of Values to select suitable values.
  4. Save the information (F12).
